Unfortunately, the weather and the work and also the wanting-to-see-friends got in the way of my weekday running… but but BUT I did go running on both Saturday and Sunday. Aaaaand so that means not only did I continue my 2x/week running streak, buuuuut I also increased my distance per run a bit. Plus, as a bonus, I saw some of the least terrifying wildlife in Manhattan…  ducks!

Saturday morning was glorious. And after a really nice run along the Hudson River, I headed to Penn Station – don’t worry, I showered and ate at my apartment first! See, it was time to head to the #bestdamnplaceofall which any Princetonian would know equally fondly as Old Nassau. My happy place!

Before my meeting kicked off, I took a swing by a building I’d only ever been in my senior year when I checked off the art history course my grandmother required. That’s right, I went to the Princeton University Art Museum! And I have to say… it was awesome. I cannot believe I didn’t take advantage of it while I was an undergrad. (Okay, yes I can. I was too busy having an amazing time with my friends! But you know what I mean…)

There was crazy fun contemporary stuff like this:

There were classic pieces that I remember studying in high school – paintings by Monet and Van Gogh, sculptures by Rodin…

But my favorite piece was this guy because I mean… how cute and happy is he?!

On the train back to NYC, I pulled out a book that my grandmother gave me for Christmas: Night by Eli Wiesel. It was on an optional reading list of mine in high school… I’d always meant to read it, but just never got around to it. In my mind, that makes it the perfect book to start off my goal. And it was an amazing book. I didn’t finish on the train, but I read it late into the night because I couldn’t put it down. I wish I’d read it years ago…

So to recap: I’ve run 32.5 miles of my target 500 miles, I completed my January book, and I visited my first museum  of the year… things are off to a pretty good start!
