Winters up in NYC are a lot colder – and much windier – than the ones I grew up with in Virginia. From November to March (okay, April), pretty much all I want to do is curl up on the sofa with some big fuzzy socks and a good movie on tv… according to some critics, that last part is somewhat up for debate but I staunchly maintain that Sandra Bullock is hilarious (as is Donkey in Shrek), romantic comedies are NOT a waste of time (and neither are Marvel superhero movies!), and his Scientology craziness notwithstanding: Tom Cruise is a badass.

Anyway…  to recap, winters are damn cold up here. But, over the past few weeks, there have been a handful of gloriously and unseasonably warm days in the Big Apple – hooray! So not only have my extremities been somewhat less tingly and numb of late, it also means that (when work has permitted) I’ve been able to go running outside.

My apartment is only a few blocks from Hudson River Park. And in my opinion, the views are worth a bit of extra wind coming off the water…

Two weeks, four runs, and 19.5 in YTD mileage  – not great, but not bad either! And given that the boyfriend and I are signed up for a triathlon in a few weeks, it looks like I need to start subsidizing my outdoor runs with treadmill time… #reallybigsadface.
